We have begun our first science unit on Interactions with Ecosystems. We have talked about different levels at which we can view ecology.
We have also been reviewing the concept of adaptations and how certain characteristics allow individual animals (or populations) to survive in their habitats - both structural and behavioural adaptations. Students first researched existing animals, and then created their own organism or worked with a fictional organism. They are now creating informational diagrams about their organism of choice. I will post some examples shortly.
