Earthquake, Volcano, Tsunami Project

Your Task:
You will create a presentation on earthquakes, volcanoes, or tsunamis. This presentation can either be done on PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Slide, or video. You may work in pairs.

You will need to include:
  • A title slide (stating the title and your names)
  • A slide/section on What Are Earthquakes/Tsunamis/volcanoes?
  • A slide/section on How do Earthquakes/etc. happen? What is the science behind it? Including:
    • An explanation of how plate tectonics are involved in their creation
    • All necessary diagrams
  • A slide/section on How are Earthquakes/etc. Measured? Including:
    • The units of measurement
    • The tools used to measure them
  • A slide/section on How are Earthquakes/etc Predicted? Including:
    • The tools used to predict them
  • A section on a specific Earthquake/etc. including:
    • When did the event happen?
    • Where did it occur? What area did it affect?
    • How intense was it?/ How much damage?
    • What does it look like?
    • Who was affected?/ How many?
    • How were their lives affected?
    • Explain what the day was like
    • Scientifically, how did it occur? What caused it? Give lots of detail!
    • What is the area like today?
    • Appropriate photos, videos, etc.
  • A slide listing all of your sources
  • A slide asking 3 questions based upon your presentation
 
Steps to creating your presentation:
  • Research all aspect of your presentation.
  • Make jot notes. Use a separate piece of paper for each section/slide
  • Create your slide show in the computer lab
  • Ensure that your presentation matches the expectations
