Character Analysis

9/27/2016

Today we continued examining character. We read the short story Say it With Flowers. I then modelled how to use a graphic organizer to organize notes in order to write a character analysis on Teruo, the protagonist. We were examining Teruo as a honest and principled person. The organizer allowed us to organize our proof into:
  • what he did;
  • what he said or thought; and
  • what others said or thought about him.
This then allowed us to collaboratively write a character analysis paragraph. This is pictured below.

Tomorrow students will need to write their own character analyses with help from table mates. They will then need to independently need to write one soon.
